City Tech Spring 2020 Update
Spring is a special time for city dwellers. Warmer temperatures lure us out of hibernation, crowded parks and sidewalks bring us back together, and public spaces blossom right alongside trees and flowers.
But this year’s changing of the seasons feels far from familiar.
Even as COVID-19 turns our work and lives upside down, City Tech’s commitment to building partnerships that accelerate technology-enabled solutions to make cities happier, healthier, and more productive is stronger than ever.
Amid the current crisis, City Tech and our partners are working not only to help cities adapt to the new normal, but also to be ready to “bounce forward” and be better prepared to deal with future shocks and stressors.
We are thinking critically
about how we design, use, and manage public space.
We are growing our team
and welcoming new members with critical skills.
We are continuing to create a more seamless transportation system through the Advanced Mobility Initiative
, including renewed focus on the parking
and freight industries.
We are taking steps to develop a health and wellness analytics tool to expand on the Chicago Health Atlas
, including recently holding a roundtable
with local community organizations to assess their needs for data-driven insights that help them better serve their clients.
And most importantly, we are working to expand access to physical spaces, critical services, and technology enablers that have become even more crucial in light of the current pandemic.
As we welcome spring – a time representing change, revitalization, and opportunity – we recognize that collaborative innovation is our best response to the fear, uncertainty, and isolation that characterize these unprecedented times. Warmly,
- Brenna Berman, CEO & Executive Director | City Tech Collaborative
