Case Study: Utility Connect
Utility service connections at new construction sites rely on meticulous site preparation, non-standard infrastructure, intricate permitting, and specialized industry knowledge and capabilities. Together, these aspects make construction sites especially vulnerable to coordination breakdowns and compounded delays, resulting in lost time and revenue for stakeholders as well as prolonged disruption for residents and local businesses.

convened Bosch, HBK Engineering, AECOM, Clayco, and John Buck
to launch the Utility Connect project to test a tool to share real-time data. Using development sites as testbeds, the tool improves utility service coordination and workflow among construction stakeholders and utility providers.
